Crimp connections have replaced soldered connections in most applications. Crimps are mechanically stable and corrosion-resistant.
They can be done the same every time, resist aging, and offer excellent, long-lasting electrical connections.
However, to do so crimps must be made correctly. The wire, contact, and crimp tool all need to fit.
Basic quality requirements for crimp connections are defined in standards such as DIN EN 60352-2, IEC 512 and DIN EN 60999-1.
In addition, manufacturers often have detailed requirements for the many wires and connectors on the market, which necessitate the right crimp tool.
